Description:

English Oak and Mahogany Tall Case Clock
Circa 1800 and believed to be an 8 day movement. Has second hand and a calendar function but calendar is not functioning. Bonnet has the swam neck pediment with mahogany reeded columns down each side to match the mahogany reeded columns going down the case. No name on the dial but it is a painted one with flowers and fruits in all four corners. Dial does show wear. The graining of the oak on the case looks good and does have mahogany banding on the lower part of the cabinet with the clock resting on it's base. With winding key and original cabinet lock with key. Currently not running continually. (I think this is because of the level needed on any clock to run). Noted is an age split in the front base of the cabinet. Center finial missing on bonnet. The cabinet separates into two pieces. Unsure of if it was made like this or was cut at some point to allow the clock to be moved up those skinny little winding stairs that the English love. The clock measures 21 5/8" wide by 10 1/2" deep and stands an impressive 87 1/2" tall.
