Born in Paris in 1933, Michel Delacroix is one of the world's leading proponents of the "Naïf" style, celebrated for his nostalgic depictions of a poetic, bygone Paris. His signature aesthetic was shaped by his childhood memories of the city during the 1940s. This dedication to the "poetic past" earned him prestigious honors, including being named the official artist of the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games. Delacroix's work remains highly coveted by international collectors, with his original paintings recently commanding auction prices of $24,130 and $32,500. As documented by Saper Galleries (https://www.sapergalleries.com/Delacroix.html), additional Delacroix pieces have sold for $41,000, $45,000, and $49,000, alongside several other high-value sales. In the U.S. alone, Delacroix's work has been featured in over 300 solo exhibitions, from New York City, Boston, and Washington, D.C., to Los Angeles, Carmel, Denver, Seattle, and San Francisco. Abroad, his work has been exhibited in France, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, England, and Japan. It forms part of the permanent collections of the Musee International d'Art Naïf and the Foundation Max Fournay in Paris, and of private collections around the globe.
